Meeting Foxworth before the first session can help therapy feel more familiar and less overwhelming for your child. You are welcome to show your child Foxworth’s picture and tell them they will get to meet this special fox when they come in.
You might say:
“This is Foxworth. He’s a friendly fox who helps kids feel comfortable when they come to therapy. You’ll get to meet him when you come in.”
This simple introduction can help your child know what to expect and make the first visit feel a little easier.

Children often form meaningful connections with familiar objects that bring comfort and a sense of security. Psychology researcher Richard H. Passman explored how attachment objects, also known as comfort objects, can help children feel more at ease during unfamiliar experiences.
Kids can use Foxworth as part of their initial experience in the playroom and then take their own Foxworth keepsake home at no extra cost. This is available exclusively for our clients and isn’t sold or offered to anyone else. For online therapy (telehealth) clients, shipping starts after the intake session. Since we manufacture these ourselves here in Tampa Bay, they’re available when supplies allow. (Choking hazard: Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.)
