Online Therapy
Helping children and teens connect, express and grow from home
But does she
Why yes…
Online therapy can offer children, tweens, and teens a supportive space to open up at their own pace. It is flexible and easy to access, helping families receive care when in-person therapy may not be available or convenient.
With the right setup, online sessions can provide a
for children and teens to feel heard, understood, and supported. I use creative, engaging methods to help my clients stay connected and involved throughout the therapy process.

Sessions are held through a secure, confidential video platform designed to support private online care. Clients can participate from the comfort of a private space using a computer, tablet, or cell phone.
Security matters, especially when therapy is happening online. Before each session, a private link is sent by email to enter a virtual waiting room. This helps keep sessions organized, private, and accessible only to those who are scheduled to attend.
Confidentiality is also an important part of online therapy. Participants are encouraged to choose a quiet, private space where they can speak freely, feel comfortable and participate without interruptions. A bedroom, home office, or other calm area can help create a setting where clients, especially children, feel safe, supported, and ready to engage.
Safeguards are built into the process to help each session begin smoothly. The platform allows you to test your audio and camera before the session starts, reducing technical stress and helping you feel more prepared. These small steps help create a more predictable, comfortable experience from the moment you or your child enters the virtual waiting room.
Online therapy works best when privacy, preparation, and connection come together. With the right setup, my online therapy clients receive meaningful support from home while still having a structured, secure space to feel heard, understood and cared for.
During the in-person parent intake, we’ll review how online therapy works, what your child can expect with online care and how to help prepare them for their first online session.
A play therapy kit will also be provided during the parent intake. This kit includes materials your child can use during online sessions to support creative expression, engagement and play-based therapeutic activities from home.
of online therapy
Online therapy can make it easier for children, tweens, teens, and families to receive support without the added stress of travel, traffic, waiting rooms, or rearranging an already full schedule. For many families, having therapy available from home creates more consistency and makes it easier to stay connected to care, even when life is busy.
Being in a familiar space can also help some children and teens feel more comfortable opening up. When they are in a private area of their own home, they may feel less pressure and more able to settle into the session at their own pace. This can be especially helpful for young people who feel nervous about starting therapy or who need a little extra time to feel safe and engaged.
Online therapy does not mean your child is simply sitting in front of a screen talking the whole time. Sessions can still include creative, interactive and play-based activities that help children express feelings, explore experiences and build coping skills in ways that feel natural and age-appropriate. The play therapy kit provided during the parent intake helps bring some of the therapy room experience into your home, giving your child tools they can use during online sessions.
For parents, online therapy can also create more flexibility and support. It allows therapy to fit more easily into school days, work schedules, transportation limits, and family routines while still offering a secure, confidential space for your child to feel heard, understood, and supported.

A research-inspired toy companion
Children often form meaningful connections with familiar objects that bring comfort and a sense of security. Psychology researcher Richard H. Passman explored how attachment objects, also known as comfort objects, can help children feel more at ease during unfamiliar experiences.
Kids can use Foxworth as part of their initial experience in the playroom and then take their own Foxworth keepsake home at no extra cost. This is available exclusively for our clients and isn’t sold or offered to anyone else. For online therapy (telehealth) clients, shipping starts after the intake session. Since we manufacture these ourselves here in Tampa Bay, they’re available when supplies allow. (Choking hazard: Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.)
